Chevrolet impala service reset

 

When you change the engine oil in your Chevrolet Impala, be sure to reset the Oil Life System/service of the car.

The Oil Life display must be reset after each oil change because it will not reset itself. Do not reset the Oil Life display accidentally at any time other than when the oil has just been changed. It cannot be reset accurately until the next oil change. When resetting the engine oil life system, follow the instruction below.

Method 1

  • Start with the ignition completely off, then turn the ignition to the “ON” position. Do not start the engine.
  • Slowly press the accelerator pedal all the way down 3 times within a 5 second interval.
  • The “Change Engine Oil” message should flash 3 times and clear.

Method 2

  • Turn the electronics of the vehicle on without starting the engine.
  • Using the controls on the right side of the steering wheel, press the “Up” or “Down” navigational buttons to navigate to “Info“. Press the “” button to select it.
  • Tap the “Up” or “Down” navigational buttons to navigate to “Remaining Oil Life“.
  • Press and hold the “” button until 100% is shown for the oil life.

Method 3

Using the audio system

  • Turn the ignition On. Don’t start the Engine.
  • Make sure the Radio is off then press the TUNE/DISP Button for 10-15 seconds to display the SETTINGS.
  • Press the the SEEK/PSCAN button to Display the OIL LIFE.
  • Push the Number 1 (PREV BUTTON) to display the RESET.
  • While the RESET is displayed. Press the TUNE/DISP Button to reset the Oil Life.
  • Done message will appear. Chevrolet impala service reset is now complete.
