vw golf spanner reset

Reset your VW golf spanner (oil service) light by following the procedures below. The steps are quite easy and don’t need a diagnostic tool

 

 

Models MK5 (2003 – 2008)

  • Turn the ignition off
  • Then we’re going to hold the 0.0 button down
  • Next, turning on the ignition while keep held down the 0.0 button
  • Finally, release the 0.0 button then go to the button on the left (MIN button) and press it once

Models MK6 (2009-2012)

  • Hold the 0.0/SET button down with the ignition off
  • Then turn on your car while keep held the button
  • Once on, release the 0.0/SET button and then press the  button on the left side of the cluster

for those with steering buttons,

  • Turn the key on
  • Go to the SETTINGS menu by using the ◄or► button
  • Scroll down to the SERVICE and push OK to select
  • Select RESET and then OK to execute the service reset

Model MK7 (2013-2019)

  • Switch off the car and make sure that all doors are closed
  • Hold down the 0.0 button while turn on the ignition

Use the 0.0 button in the in the center just below the screen. You just hold that down as you’re starting the car and that will bring up a quick prompt screen

  • Press the 0.0 button once

    When RESET OIL CHANGE INTERVAL? appears, release the button and then press the 0.0 button again to reset it

Model MK8(2020-)

  • Turn on your car
  • Find the DRIVING TIME/DISTANCE menu
  • Once you get there you need to press and hold the ◄or► button on the steering wheel for about 5 seconds
  • Release the button and you’ll see the service mode
  • From there you can RESET INSPECTION or RESET OIL SERVICE
  • Restart your VW golf to check that spanner ( oil service) light has been reset
