Reset your Ford Escape oil life (service) indicator in a few minutes by following the procedures below depending on your model. This should be done after changing oil and oil filter.
Method One
- Switch the ignition on. Do not start the engine.
- Fully press the accelerator and brake pedals at the same time.
- Keep the accelerator and brake pedals fully pressed.
- After three seconds, a message displays confirming the reset procedure is in progress.
- After 25 seconds, a message displays confirming the reset procedure is complete.
- Release the accelerator and brake pedals.
- Switch the ignition off.
Method Two
Use the information display controls on the steering wheel to reset Ford Escape service(oil life).
- Turn the key to ON position. From the main menu, scroll to settings.
- Press the right arrow button, then from this menu scroll to VEHICLE
- Then Press the right arrow button, and select OIL LIFE
- Press the right arrow button, then from this menu scroll to HOLD OK TO RESET.
- Press and hold the OK button until the instrument cluster displays the following message.
- Reset Successful When the oil change indicator resets the instrument cluster displays 100%. Remaining Life {00}% If the instrument cluster displays one of the following messages, (Not Reset
Reset Cancelled) repeat the process.
