The oil change light on your Nissan Sentra needs to be reset after every oil change so that the system can determine when the next oil change is due. if you don’t reset the light, you will find that your vehicle will indicate that you need another oil change sooner than would be necessary. the procedure only takes a few moments.
- Press the menu button, which is found on the left side of the steering wheel
- Select “maintenance” and press enter
- Find “oil and filter” and again press enter.
- Select “reset” and press enter one last time.
- Switch off ignition and turn it on again to check if light has reset.
For other Nissan Sentra models, reset the oil change light by following these steps;
- Turn the ignition key to the “on” position
- Depress the gas pedal slowly three times within 5 seconds
- Release and start your vehicle and the oil light should indicate a reset.
